Christopher Horvat, a Pitt critical care medicine professor, brought this challenge to Pitt's Cloud Innovation Center, where a team developed an AI-powered solution. The tool automatically maps proprietary codes to standard dictionaries and converts the data into a universally shareable format—potentially transforming how hospitals collaborate on research.
