Final Preparations for Oracle Data Warehouse Retirement on July 1

During the past year, Pitt Digital has been working closely with Oracle Data Warehouse users to help them prepare for the migration to our Snowflake Data Warehouse, a modern, flexible platform for data, analytics, and AI. Access to the Oracle Data Warehouse will be disabled on Monday, June 15, and the Oracle Data Warehouse will be fully decommissioned on Wednesday, July 1.

We are continuing to work directly with Data Warehouse users to prepare for these important milestones. You can help us ensure a smooth transition and avoid any potential workflow disruptions by taking these steps:

  • Remind Data Warehouse users in your unit to review any remaining queries, reports, Tableau workbooks, and Alteryx workflows that connect to Oracle. These need to be transitioned to Snowflake before June 15.
  • Encourage Data Warehouse users to review the Oracle DW to Snowflake Transition Hub, which provides timelines, training resources, and connection guides.
  • If a Data Warehouse user in your unit needs a dedicated place to store data in Snowflake, direct them to contact the Technology Help Desk and request an Enablement Schema.

Pitt Digital is committed to ensuring migrations to Snowflake are completed smoothly and ahead of schedule. We are available to assist you and the Data Warehouse users in your unit at any time. You can join our Microsoft Teams transition channel for peer support and interactive questions and answers, or reach out to us directly through the Technology Help Desk at +1-412-624-HELP (4357).
