Institutional Data Review Committee

Use of Institutional Data at Pitt

Institutional data maintained throughout Pitt is a critical part of the teaching, research, business, and community service functions of the University of Pittsburgh. The Institutional Data Review Committee (IDRC), composed of faculty, staff, and administrators, was created as part of the information technology governance system to provide guidance for the use of University data.  The IDRC evaluates novel requests for the use of institutional data by members of the University community not covered by existing protocols. Deliberations are guided by the Data Values and Principles adopted by the University in May 2024.
