To protect the University community, Pitt Digital will enforce a minimum version of the Zoom client beginning Monday, Sept. 14. Older versions of Zoom contain vulnerabilities that make users more susceptible to security risks. Updating gives you the latest security and privacy protections available for the app.
If you have not updated by this date, you will still be able to access meetings through the Zoom Web Portal, but you will not be able to join a meeting or log in to the Zoom app using an outdated version.
Update Your Zoom App
To maintain access and ensure you are using the most secure version of Zoom:
- Open the Zoom app
- Click your profile picture
- Select Check for Updates
You'll need administrative (admin) rights on your computer to complete the installation. For detailed steps, see Updating Zoom to the Latest Version.
Thank you for helping us maintain a secure virtual environment. Please submit a ticket to the Technology Help Desk or call +1-412-624-HELP (4357) if you experience any issues installing this update.
